Cumberland County Housing and Redevelopment Authorities (CCHRA) is a public housing agency that helps provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. The Cumberland County Housing and Redevelopment Authorities (CCHRA) were formed in 1975 to expand affordable housing opportunities and to provide support to municipalities in undertaking community development projects.
CCHRA owns and manages 149 units of public housing for low and moderate income families. Public family housing units are located in Carlisle Borough at nine locations. The original 100 units were completed in 1982-83, and 50 additional units were added at
Grandview Court and Cherry Court in 1991. One of the units has since been converted to a community building for the Grandview Court After School Program
CCHRA recently completed a number of modernization improvements including new building facades and landscaping. Its public housing program is consistently rated a “high performer” by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
